Not all pool filters are created equal! Choosing the right one can make a big difference in water clarity, maintenance, and overall performance. Here’s a quick breakdown of the three main types:
Sand Filters. A common and budget-friendly option. Sand filters are easy to use and maintain. They catch debris as water flows through a special sand bed, but they may not filter as finely as other options.
Cartridge Filters. These filters use a replaceable cartridge to trap dirt and debris. They offer great filtration with less water waste during cleaning. A solid middle-ground choice for many pool owners.
DE (Diatomaceous Earth) Filters. The top performer when it comes to water clarity. DE filters use a powder made from fossilized algae to trap even the smallest particles. They require more maintenance but give you crystal-clear water.
