High CYA (stabilizer) makes chlorine much less effective.
Pool tablets are convenient, but every tablet adds stabilizer. Over time, it builds up to levels that make chlorine much less effective.
We regularly test pools with CYA levels 2–4 times higher than recommended.
This causes:
• Algae that keeps coming back
• Cloudy water
• Higher chemical costs
• Pools that never feel fully clean
Adding more chlorine will NOT fix it.
The only real solution is a partial water exchange to reset the water Once corrected, the difference is immediate. The water becomes clearer, healthier, and much easier to maintain.
