How Many Gallons of Water Does My Pool Hold?

Knowing how many gallons of water are in your pool isn’t just trivia, it’s essential for proper maintenance! The right chemical doses, filtration times, and even heating costs depend on your pool’s volume. Why It Matters Chemical Accuracy – Pool chemicals are measured per gallon. Over or under dosing can affect water quality and safety. Filter Efficiency – Knowing the volume helps you set the correct pump run time to circulate all the water. Heating Costs – The more gallons, the more energy it takes to heat your pool. How to Calculate Your Pool’s Gallons For rectangular or square pools: Length (ft) × Width (ft) × Average Depth (ft) × 7.5 = Gallons For round pools: Diameter (ft) × Diameter (ft) × Average Depth (ft) × 5.9 = Gallons For oval pools: Length (ft) × Width (ft) × Average Depth (ft) × 5.9 = Gallons Example: A pool that’s 30

Attention Texas Pool Owners: Important Updates on Pool Pump Laws!

What’s New in Texas for Pool Pumps? Federal regulations now require residential pool pumps over 1.15 Total Horsepower (THP) to be variable speed motors, effective as of July 19, 2021. Additionally, new rules are rolling out through 2025 and 2027: Motors ≥ 1.15 THP must be variable-speed by Sept 29, 2025. Motors 0.5 – 1.15 THP by Sept 28, 2027. Motors below 0.5 THP must achieve at least 69% efficiency by Sept 29, 2025. Why This Matters to You: Variable-speed pumps offer energy savings of 40–80%, quieter operation, and longer lifespans. Texas law requires all electrical installations related to pool equipment to be done by licensed electricians or qualified technicians. Regular compliance checks for safety features (such as drain covers) are mandated under Texas administrative code. What Should You Do? Check your current pump’s horsepower (THP). Plan ahead for pump replacements or upgrades with variable speed models. Always hire a

Once it starts, it spreads quickly turning your water green and your pool slippery and unsafe. 2. Water Chemistry Gets Out of Balance Without regular testing and adjustment, chlorine levels can drop, pH can swing, and alkalinity can fall out of range. This not only makes swimming unsafe but can also damage your pool’s surface and equipment. 3. Filters and Baskets Get Clogged Leaves, bugs, and debris can build up fast. Without regular cleaning, your system has to work harder putting strain on
